She had just moved to Arizona from Maui, Hawaii with her baby girl, so that she could be closer to her mom. Tami recalled the synchronicities that led her to joining SWIHA. *“I had no intention on starting school but after a series of universal events, I tripped across SWIHA and within one week’s time found myself enrolled full time going for a degree in Mind-Body Transformational Psychology with Certifications in Life Coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Reiki.”* Before moving to AZ, Tami had spent 10 years on Maui doing a wide range of jobs and businesses. As a professionally trained model and actress, she also had the honor of teaching modeling and acting to teenagers and young adults. It was through these teachings that she really found passion in helping others see their inner beauty, to find their own style and confidence, to believe in themselves and reach for their goals. *“I was inspired everyday by these youths. I have helped with a lot of workshops, conferences and public speaking events and am passionate about inspiring others to live their most authentic and fulfilling lives.“* Going into SWIHA, Tami was aware of her intuitive abilities, yet SWIHA really helped her to develop and grow them. ### Share this: - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) Topics: [Great Graduates](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/great-graduates), [Life Coaching](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coaching), [Holistic Nutrition](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-nutrition), [Hypnotherapy](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/hypnotherapy), [aromatherapy](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aromatherapy), [Blog](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/blog) [![](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Marci-3.jpg)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/blog/a-space-to-breathe-and-heal) ## [A Space to Breathe and Heal](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/blog/a-space-to-breathe-and-heal) Published Author. Massage Therapist. Teacher. Spiritual Coach. Aromatherapist. Clinical Nurse. Holistic Entrepreneur. These are just some of the many titles Marci Cagen can put on her resume. A graduate of SWIHA’s Massage Therapy program, Marci’s interest in massage therapy and holistic health stemmed from her years of experience as a clinical nurse, and grew into a business that extends beyond one or two holistic modalities. “I originally enrolled at SWIHA while I was working as a clinical nurse at Phoenix Children’s Hospital so I could learn some alternative therapies that would support the patients I worked with,” Marci explains. “They were in so much pain, and I wanted to be able to offer healing modalities that would complement the medications they were prescribed, alleviating associated side effects, while offering support to the mind, body, spirit and emotions.” Marci’s interest in reflexology guided her to massage therapy, and multiple other healing modalities followed. Once she completed her massage therapy program, Marci felt she needed to leave her nursing career to “answer the call of my soul.” During her time studying at SWIHA, she learned how to embrace her spiritual healing gifts, and upon graduating, Marci began to create a life of helping others tap into their spiritual gifts. ### Share this: - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) Topics: [spirituality](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spirituality), [Massage Therapy](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage-therapy), [life coach](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coach), [massage](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage), [aromatherapy](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aromatherapy), [Blog](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/blog) ### About the Author ### Share this: - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) ### Subscribe ### Posts by Topic - [Aesthetics (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aesthetics) - [alchemy (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/alchemy) - [aromatherapy (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aromatherapy) - [balance (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/balance) - [Blog (69)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/blog) - [Facials (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/facials) - [fitness (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/fitness) - [Great Graduates (37)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/great-graduates) - [holistic entrepreneur (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-entrepreneur) - [Holistic Healing (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-healing) - [Holistic Nutrition (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-nutrition) - [Holistic Nutrtion (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-nutrtion) - [Hypnotherapy (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/hypnotherapy) - [Intuition (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/intuition) - [life coach (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coach) - [Life Coaching (24)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coaching) - [massage (9)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage) - [Massage Therapy (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage-therapy) - [Meditation (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/meditation) - [Nutrition (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/nutrition) - [Nutrition Coaching (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/nutrition-coaching) - [Reflexology (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/reflexology) - [Reiki (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/reiki) - [Skincare (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/skincare) - [spa (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spa) - [spiritual studies (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spiritual-studies-2) - [spirituality (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spirituality) - [Toe Reading (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/toe-reading) - [Urban Farming (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/urban-farming) - [yoga (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga) - [yoga (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga-2) - [Yoga for Runners (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga-for-runners) - [Yoga Teacher Training (9)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga-teacher-training) see all ### Archives - [March 2015 (11)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/03) - [April 2015 (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/04) - [July 2015 (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/07) - [January 2016 (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/01) - [February 2016 (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/02) - [May 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/05) - [June 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/06) - [August 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/08) - [September 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/09) - [November 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/11) - [December 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/12) - [October 2015 (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/10) - [March 2016 (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/03) - [April 2016 (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/04) - [May 2016 (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/05) - [July 2016 (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/07) see all [![SWIHA Logo](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/hubfs/Great-Graduates-Images-May-2016/swiha-logo.png "Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) Logo")](https://www.swiha.edu/) Southwest Institute of Healing Arts 1538 E.
