KC Miller is the founder of Southwest Institute of Healing Arts celebrating its 30th year anniversary of helping people to discover their Gifts and Graces. Over the years KC has received many designations and won numerous awards. While these are milestones in life worth celebrating, her greatest joy and accomplishment, in her mind, is that her 'Life Light' has been used to help illuminate others 'light' and life purpose! Her personal life motto has become the healing model for SWIHA ~ Let me be an instrument in the peace and healing of others as we seek to touch lives, heal bodies and free souls!

He candidly shares how he chose to hang out with gangsters in his adolescent years. As a result, Quentin found himself involved in activities ranging from selling drugs to carrying weapons. Although Quentin attended four different high schools, he succeeded in completing his high school diploma. At the age of eighteen, he fell asleep at the wheel of this vehicle and crashed into a light pole, leaving him with a broken femur, fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and a new lease on life. It was this unexpected incident that helped him to realize he was put on this earth for a reason—to change the world for the better. The next event that forever impacted Quentin’s life was the birth of his beautiful daughter, Alyssa. Upon her birth, Quentin vowed to be a positive role model for his daughter and be someone she could be proud of. The journey to his destined path would not be easy; there were many challenges such as anxiety, the absence of a true purpose, and the lack of a mentor or role-model in his life. ### Share this: - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) Topics: [Great Graduates](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/great-graduates), [Life Coaching](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coaching), [life coach](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coach), [Blog](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/blog) [![](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Kiera-Stroup-blog-pic-roughs.jpg)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/blog/seeking-serenity-in-the-southwest) ## [Seeking Serenity in the Southwest](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/blog/seeking-serenity-in-the-southwest) Kiera Stroup always wanted to move to Arizona. A native New Yorker, Kiera earned her Bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College and then began a corporate I.T. career that lasted 27 years and took her to Connecticut, California, and finally Memphis, Tennessee. It was at the University of Memphis where she earned her MBA. However, Kiera still longed to live in the Grand Canyon State. In 2013, Kiera’s corporate I.T. career came to an unexpected end when the company she worked for eliminated her position. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, Kiera took it as a sign and headed for the Valley of the Sun to fearlessly pursue her dream. Since Kiera had a longtime interest in skincare, she felt that a career change to the field of natural beauty would be a good fit for her. She found Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) and called to inquire about aesthetics programs. Based on Kiera’s other interest in massage, her Admission Coach suggested SWIHA’s [1000-hour Massage program](https://swiha.edu/education/all-programs/swiha-campus/diploma/master-massage-practitioner/) , which would allow her to become [dually licensed](http://beaskincarespecialist.com/education/programs/master-massage-practitioner/?__hstc=19423527.f90b2224e2d051b85c4feb082037bd53.1418250970335.1426013147002.1426269291078.8&__hssc=19423527.1.1426269291078&__hsfp=684360731) in massage and aesthetics. This specific program is unique, in that, students have the opportunity to complete part of their program at Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics (SWINA), SWIHA’s branch campus where the natural aesthetics programs and courses are held, located two miles south of the main campus in Tempe, Arizona. ### Share this: - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) Topics: [Massage Therapy](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage-therapy), [holistic entrepreneur](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-entrepreneur), [Aesthetics](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aesthetics), [Skincare](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/skincare), [massage](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage), [Blog](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/blog) ### About the Author ### Share this: - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) ### Subscribe ### Posts by Topic - [Aesthetics (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aesthetics) - [alchemy (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/alchemy) - [aromatherapy (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/aromatherapy) - [balance (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/balance) - [Blog (69)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/blog) - [Facials (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/facials) - [fitness (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/fitness) - [Great Graduates (37)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/great-graduates) - [holistic entrepreneur (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-entrepreneur) - [Holistic Healing (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-healing) - [Holistic Nutrition (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-nutrition) - [Holistic Nutrtion (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/holistic-nutrtion) - [Hypnotherapy (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/hypnotherapy) - [Intuition (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/intuition) - [life coach (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coach) - [Life Coaching (24)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/life-coaching) - [massage (9)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage) - [Massage Therapy (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/massage-therapy) - [Meditation (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/meditation) - [Nutrition (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/nutrition) - [Nutrition Coaching (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/nutrition-coaching) - [Reflexology (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/reflexology) - [Reiki (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/reiki) - [Skincare (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/skincare) - [spa (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spa) - [spiritual studies (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spiritual-studies-2) - [spirituality (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/spirituality) - [Toe Reading (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/toe-reading) - [Urban Farming (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/urban-farming) - [yoga (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga) - [yoga (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga-2) - [Yoga for Runners (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga-for-runners) - [Yoga Teacher Training (9)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/topic/yoga-teacher-training) see all ### Archives - [March 2015 (11)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/03) - [April 2015 (8)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/04) - [July 2015 (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/07) - [January 2016 (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/01) - [February 2016 (5)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/02) - [May 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/05) - [June 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/06) - [August 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/08) - [September 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/09) - [November 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/11) - [December 2015 (4)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/12) - [October 2015 (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2015/10) - [March 2016 (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/03) - [April 2016 (3)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/04) - [May 2016 (2)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/05) - [July 2016 (1)](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/archive/2016/07) see all [![SWIHA Logo](https://blog.greatgraduates.com/hubfs/Great-Graduates-Images-May-2016/swiha-logo.png "Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) Logo")](https://www.swiha.edu/) Southwest Institute of Healing Arts 1538 E.
